Betty (Elizabeth) Young lived at 7 Park Street, Cleland and later in G4 Holdsworth Court, Wishaw.
She was brought up in Newarthill, her maiden name was Reid.
She married Bobby (ROBERT), her teenage friend, who also died 7 years later in 2005.
Betty and Bobby weren't able to have their own children but as close family friends, they were our granparents.
"Any Dream Will Do" was Bettys favourite song. She was a massive Rangers supporter, Ally McCoist and Mark Hately her 2 favourite players. We would regularly play bingo and dominoes! haha :)
Unfortunatly I only have one picture of Betty, which is on this page. It was taken in August 1997, less than a year before she passed on.
Betty died very suddenly though peacefully in her sleep, 25th July 1998. She is buried in Shottskirk cemetery near Motherwell.
My gran is greatly missed, till we meet again.
RIP xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
